Freely we have received, freely we give.(Adapted from Matthew 10:8b) Who is Lydia? On the apostle Paul's second missionary journey he traveled to the region of Macedonia. Arriving in the important city of Philippi, Paul began to preach. One of the first ones to accept Paul's message was a woman named Lydia. Lydia was a dealer in purple cloth, which meant she sold very fine garments. As soon as she placed her faith in Jesus and was baptized, Lydia invited Paul and his companions to stay at her house. She showed her faith by serving others. (Acts 16:11-15) Lydia's Clothing Boutique seeks to follow her example. Just like Lydia was in the clothing business, we seek to provide for this basic need free of charge. And just as Lydia compassionately served others, we want to be a blessing to our community.
